Green Hell for PC is a survival game in an open world format, where the player must survive – and try to thrive – in an unusual location for such games which are usually set in deserts or arid landscapes – places survival is hard because of a lack of resources. This game parks you firmly on the banks of the Amazon river with all the dangers that entails: poisonous plants, bad water, dangerous creatures and natives who may or may not welcome intruders into their domain!

About the Game

In story mode you are Dr Jake Higgins – again an apparent improvement on other survival games, as it means you start with some advantages and knowledge. You are looking to find your wife, Mia, who is bent on making friends with local tribespeople because she speaks their language – she is Jake's interpreter, as well as his partner.

However, this rather blinds her to the dangers of those who do not wish her well, and Jake, whose only current contact with her is via a radio, must keep himself alive and track her down before it is too late. Jake's progress is constrained by the need to learn on the go, making and then using tools that give him access to more of the jungle, each one hopefully taking him ever closer to Mia. There are multiple endings, so the game is worth replaying to see how the other endings play out.

Need to Know

Jake is armed with a useful satellite watch which doubles as your health monitor and a compass to keep you on track. Your inventory all fits into your backpack, so it is with you all the time, and you save by building a shelter, wherever you are. Remember to save before committing yourself to a tricky crossing or feat, and in a place where you are relatively safe – it's mildly irritating to repeatedly die seconds into any save!

It's not just basic food along with clean water and sleep that you need in this game, you need to get the right balance of fats, carbs and proteins which makes it a lot trickier to accomplish, despite the abundance of potential nourishment all around you. You can check your limbs, one at a time and in fair detail, so you can spot wounds, leeches, bugs, bites and rashes as soon as they start affecting your health status.

There is also a sanity bar which you should keep an eye on, especially when Jake is particularly stressed, ill or exhausted! If you start losing your mind, your grip on reality wanders and the music becomes poignant, and the colour drains from the world. The jungle will try and kill you even harder in this state, but you can recover by performing 'normal' actions, such as curing minor illnesses, drinking good water, eating well, and getting caught up on your sleep etc.

Ways to Play

The beginning of story mode – about ten minutes or so – is identical to the tutorial, and it cannot be skipped, so you could miss the tutorial and dive straight into story mode. If you survive first time out (highly unlikely!) you will be away, without needing to do it all again, for real this time.

You can play with a buddy in story mode, and have a friend along to keep an eye out for danger, slap a cure together and generally look out for each other.

Co-operative multi-play is also available in online survival mode where you and three others work to keep the team alive and on the move.
Whichever mode you play, it is possible to survive, but the game does not make it easy – you have to work at it and you may well finish the game exhausted and feeling as though the real Amazon wouldn't be quite so determined to make you dead! In both modes there are plenty of missions and side quests to work through.

Crafting is – surprisingly – super simple. Just gather what you need – usually just one of each item – and then drag and drop them together and voila, the item is made. You must have a shelter to save the game, as mentioned above, so make the first one early and then save often as you progress!

Pro tip – coconuts are your friend! They are clean water, food and even bowls all in one. Gather as many as you can carry!

Exciting Ways to Die in the Jungle!

Jaguars will kill you with enthusiasm, enjoying you for dinner while you curse and respawn, trying to remember exactly where they were so as to avoid them this time round, but there are a great many ways to die in this appropriately named green hell – here are just some of them!

Arrows – not all the locals are happy to see you, and despite Mia's insistences, some of them will happily try to kill you!

Falls – all that lush green growth can be deceptive, with lethal drops suddenly opening under your unwary feet

Venom – famously, venom is what snakes squirt into when they bite, poison is what kills you should you eat it. But you are not going to be bothered about using the right word when snakes are falling out of trees and biting you, creeping up behind you and biting you, or appearing apparently out of nowhere and – you guessed it – biting you!

Poison – watch what you eat, as some of the berries, animals and leaves will, if not outright kill you (although some do!), make you very ill, and open to dying from any number of other causes.

Dehydration – just as in real life, not drinking enough water is a major problem. And despite the fact that there is plenty of water, unlike in other survival games, you need to be careful about drinking it! Water must be clean and bug free if it isn't going to make you sick. Oh, and check yourself, if you've been near water you almost certainly have a leech or twenty somewhere about your person! This will make Jake's health bar start dropping, so be sure to sort it quickly!

You can play that game with friends thats awesome but it is a little bit buggy so you cant actually enjoy it that much, for example my friend had an log the whole time in his hand and had godmode.

Excellent survival game! you can craft lot of items and discover many location in a very big island, various flora and fauna environment and a good graphic complete a very good title, the story is also interesting and well performed by the actors, story mode is about 12 hours but there are other way to play so potentially many more hours, reccomended.

I would like to save anyone money from buying this game. I do not recommend it. I set the story mode to the second easiest difficulty and after about 40 minutes of playtime and watching a YouTube video, I realized that if you will die in about 20 minutes if you haven't ran like crazy to do a bunch of things. I saw this game as a #1 seller, so I bought it, but unless you want a super time crunchy game, I would not recommend it. I wish I could get my money back.

Très bon jeu pour les survivalistes.

Réaliste même un peu trop mdr parce que ça fais peur , donc je vous conseille de jouer en multijoueur avec un pote pour pouvoir se rassurée mdrr.

On peut choisir ses modes de facilité à note quise.

Apres le mode histoire on a une suite , l'histoire est sublime !!!

Gutes Spiel, etwas Herausforderung, aber sobald man weiß wodrauf man achten muss geht es.

Es ist hat viele Aspekte gleich mit The Forest, aber persönlich finde ich Green Hell etwas schwieriger, gerade am Anfang wenn man noch nicht die Gefahren im Amazonas kennt, braucht man mehrere Versuche zum überleben.

Esta bastante bien jugarlo con amigos la verdad. Un fallo es que cuando vas a empezar te obliga a hacer el tutorial solo. Otra cosa que vas a notar al jugar es que si eres el típico de ponerlo en normal te vas a cabrear mas de una vez porque no te vas a enterar de mucho si entras a jugar sin saber nada. Es muy difícil empezar sin saber nada, te vas a morir de hambre rapido ya que tienes que comer variado,...

Green Hell est un jeu de survie prenant et entraînant ! Si vous vous attendiez à passer de bons moments en forêt et que vous êtes un expert de la survie... Passez votre chemin, parce que vous allez rager et mourir une bonne paire de fois au début.

Accrochez vous pour pouvoir apprécier le jeu et vous amuser car la mécanique du jeu n'est pas forcément intuitive et c'est bien là le seul gros gros défaut du jeu. Vous allez sursauter, vous allez rager mais c'est excellent.

Le mode histoire est très sympa mais fini trop rapidement selon moi, beaucoup de mystères soulevés mais non identifiés, c'est dommage.

Adeptes des jeux de survie ? Ce jeu est fait pour vous ! C'est un des jeux que j'ai le plus aimé streamer :)

Très bon pour les amateurs de survie difficile et réaliste ! On ne progrèsse pas en rushant la forêt à l'aveugle mais en prenant garde au moindre bruit ou mouvement ! Une simple grenouille peut vous conduire à la mort si vous n'avez pas d'antidote. Une difficulté qui demande du temps à prendre en main et qui ne plaira pas à tout le monde.

Un très bon jeu de survie qui est très fun à jouer entre amis. Le jeu est plutôt réaliste mais peu intuitif avec peu de tutoriel vous devrez expérimenter pour trouver les recettes adéquates car les guides sur internet se font rare. Je vous conseille de ne pas commencer dans la nature totale et de vous établir sur un campement au bord d'une rivière ce qui vous fera une source d'eau et de nourriture.

allgemein zeimlich zufrieden nachdem ich mir auch die story angeschaut habe guter plottwist zum ende hin was ich kurios finde dass manche dieses spiel als zu schwer empfinden und es deshalb schlecht bewerten meine frage ist dabei wieso? es steht sogar in der beschreibung zumal es auf dem mittleren grad noch relativ einfach schien sobald man sich in das spiel etwas eingefunden hat. das spiel hält genau das was es vespricht allerdings finde ich dass das spiel aktuell ziemlich wenig content bietet und die ki eher solala ist. alles in einem hat sich der preis von 12 euro ausgezahlt und ich hoffe es kommt noch eine art story dlc da ich diese wie schon gesagt sehr gut fand und gerne mehr hätte

Sehr gutes Spiel für jeden der bock auf survival, Action und Abenteuer hat. Am meisten Spaß hat man dann natürlich, wenn man es mit seinen Freunden zusammenspielt. Es ist zwar recht schwierig abe nicht Unmögliche. Eine klare Empfehlung von mir.

Nachdem ich die ganzen postiven Bewertungen gelesen habe, musste ich das Spiel nochmal anspielen, nachdem es mir beim ersten mal nicht gefallen hat. (Habe damals 1 Stunde alleine gespielt).

Jetzt, nachdem ich zu zweit gespielt habe, muss ich sagen, dass es sehr viel Spaß macht! Ich hoffe nur, dass die Entwickler die paar Bugs, die es noch gibt fixen und noch viel neuen Content dazu bringen. Das Spiel hat extremes Potential nach oben.

Kann ich nur jedem empfehlen, aber am besten mit mehr Leuten spielen.

Au début, je l'avoue, j'ai eu du mal à rentrer dans le jeu difficulté à trouver la possibilité de boire de l'eau, se soigner des différente maladie et blessure surtout sans aide à part un carnet qui se met à jour une fois l'objet ou le remède trouvé mais une fois rodé QUEL PIED !!
La 1ere zone laisse vraiment le temps d'apprendre les mécanique du jeu qui pousse la survie à un niveau dingue.
Mais une fois la nouvelle zone ouverte, plus de place à l'impro, vous êtes dans la jungle !

Excellent jeu en coopération. On y joue tous en Famille, de 11 à 50 ans !
Seul bémol: nombre max de joueurs limité à 4 (on est 5) + si la personne hébergeant quitte, la partie est suspendue pour tout le monde.

fedt spil, det er sjovest hvis man spiller 2 eller flere venner sammen. det er lidt svært i starten men man lære det hurtigt. hvis man kan lide singleplayer er det også sjovt, men gør det lige lidt sjovere når man er et par stykker.

un jeu de survie parfait a réaliser entre amis, des heures de rires a l'arrivé. le plus dommage étant l'audio des joueurs dans le jeu, personnellement je passe par discord pour la simplicité mais il est dommage de ne pas pouvoir utiliser le talkie entre nous pdt le jeu.

super jeu très intéressant pour les mec qui aime la survie ressemble fort a the Forest et stranded Depp le jeux et super beau et ultra réaliste genre il faut gérer les protéines les lipides l'eau et tout plein d'autre truc

Très beau jeu d'exploration : une boussole, pas de carte, pas de HUD
Seul avec la nature, on meurt très souvent au départ ce qui fait qu'on arrête de foncer comme dans les autres jeux. Il faut regarder où l'on met les pieds.

Pas de F5 pour sauvegarder, il faut se construire un abris. Ce n'est donc pas lorsqu'on est épuisé ou mordu ou attaqué qu'il faut penser à l'abri, il faut anticiper l'énergie, l'eau .... Donc jeu exigeant mais facile d'accès.

Green Hell habe ich mir ohne hohe Erwartungen gekauft und bin mehr als Positiv überrascht .

Die Grafik ist der Wahnsinn zu diesem Preis .

Noch viel ausschlaggebender finde ich das selbst freunde mit einem 4 Jahre alten PC das game noch ohne Probleme spielen können.

Die Story / Kampagne ist jetzt vielleicht nicht die Größte aber dafür kann man die Story mittlerweile auch im Multiplayer zocken .
Und bis jetzt liefern die Entwickler in regelmäßigen abständen neuen Content für das Game.

Also von mir gibt es eine ganz klare Kauf-Empfehlung für alle Survival Fans oder die es noch werden wollen =)

En sois c'est un bon jeu, a jouer seul ou a plusieurs mais c'est mille fois mieux d'y jouer a plusieurs minimum 2 et c'est encore peu a mon gout...

Je n'ai pas réellement jouer au mode histoire, en sachant que c'est un jeu assez dur a comprendre au début

gigantesque map pas mal de choses a faire mélange d'aventure et de farm ( multi ) le jeu est assez simple a terminer en 2 / 3j mais si on ne cherche pas la solution sur internet je pense que ça peu prendre plus de temps mode histoire assez long

pas très bien optimisé

Für mich das beste und realistischste Survival Spiel das es momentan gibt!
Die Hauptstory ist wirklich gut und sehr tiefgründig, es lohnt sich allemal die Story des Spieles zu verfolgen.
Sehr empfehlenswert!

Un gioco survival molto eclatante nel suo genere è molto realistico, forse un po troppo haha, però ci sono davvero moooolte cose che si posso fare e costruire, e se lo giocate in co op saarà divertimento assicurato.La story line è un po contorta aimè è uno di quei giochi dove devi leggere ogni singolo pezzo di carta che trovi per capirci qualcosa, però se non siete cosi fiscali da omettere questo particolare allora è quello che fa per voi, sopratutto state attenti ai fottuti ragni e ai SERPENTI sono ovunque e in un attimo vi mordono senza mango che ve ne accorgiate. Durante il mio gameplay sono statto molto fortunato non ho trovato manco un indigeno ma dicono c'è ne siano molti in giro, per quanto riguarda la mappa è molto ampia con molti luoghi interagibili, l ambiente è fatto discretamente bene anche se per alcuni versi forse mio nipote dell asilo avrebbe saputo fare di meglio. se vi perdete è un macello... la bussola si vi aiuta ma la mappa cartacea rispetto quella fisica è totalemnte diversa i bassi e alti rilievi non sono visibili dalla carta e una volta li o cadete e morite, oppure avete un muro altro 400 metri e allora morite dentro. Detto questo giocateci assimee a qualcuno o ne uscirete pazzi GIURO, abbiate fiducia nella miei parole, e trovate Mia per Dio...
Per concludere, bel gioco ma avtee davabnti a voi un MONDO da scoprire che manco vi immaginate, buona fortuna campeggiatori che la forza sia con voi, e altre frasi motivazionali XD
